CORRUPTION

Corruption! The extreme menace starts right from the root level or else our dwelling place. i.e our home. For instance, children right from their are given things or even `bribe’ in cash or gift. The parent agree to vive such things only if their child get their home work done and to achieve more marks in examination than other children. The parent also offer such things to children with a view to shut their mouth and keep themselves free. Hence corruption can be termed as an basic extortion by the needy people through money.

There is nothing strange and sensational in tehelka expose by the media team, Tarun Tejpal and Mathew. They have disclosed the corruption as a routine matter among the defence, irrespective of the security issue of the nation. A party claimed to be corruption free has also joined the jam packed bandwagon of Ms Jayalalita, Laloo Prasad Ya and lakhs of other tainted political figures. The tehelka revealed the brutality of reality that every patch of our country is corrupt and goes like a routine issue in civil and military bureaucrats.

The root of corruption originated from the fund generating campaign and acceptance of donations of political party under different banner. That was the argument of Bangaru Laxman who also convicted in the above scandal. The BJP party also require funds. The congress has no right to cry wolf since corruption was rampant at their tenure of rule also, where so called Mr. Clean Rajiv Gandhi was also put under suspicion for involving in the Bofors Gun Purchase scandal.

The path of politics is considered as a corridor of powers after independence since the freedom struggle is forgotten by transfer of powers. The rule has become a lucrative business in the political scenario. Money power and muscle power still rule the roost. This is the reason the politics is criminalized and the ethics and morality is lost. E.g. former PM Narasimha Rao managed to survive his term by bribing the Jharkhand MPs for support. Thereby every Minister and every MP who received the bonanza cheated the people who voted for them . Because they were elected on vote of people who entrusted their trust on their representatives with a hope to be lifted from their miseries. Still they start pelting stones each other while every one fingers are themselves tainted with blood. They play the number games to survive their term and enjoy their benefits.

So fighting corruption as drum beaten by ruling party or opposition party is a big pot boiler. They see that their personal embezzlement goes on. The lone cursaders in the bureaucratic system like Khairnar, Alphonso IAS etc were proved to be throne in the flesh of their corrupt collegues were harassed and shifted from place to place. We can see the plight of petty contractors and labourers who were to grease the hands of White collars to get their bills passed with “speed money”. They are supported by tentacles of politicians who share the booty. Fast bucks from cricket, business, films cross the `Lakshman Rekha’ while a cricket icon match-fixes. come star or producer is financed and controlled by underworld Dons, when revenue official runs benami business etc.

The truth is that the people are demoralized with apathy towards the corruption as a growing cancer till eats the entire body of the nation. As far as money only earns social status, marriages will go commercial and lavish, TV serial will be ample with Ads than the episode, Scandals will grow and conviction rates will decrease. Our nation is raising to the highest status among all the most corrupt countries.
